About the Forum

This First Edition is Dedicated to the Great Spanish Legend
Alicia de Larrocha

The AMC International Piano Forum’s principal aim is to select, nurture and promote the next generation of exceptionally talented pianists from around the world.

Its cornerstone is the guidance and support of celebrated artists who join as jury members and mentors throughout the event, set against the beautiful backdrop of Cartagena’s harbour.

This first edition will be honoured by the special presence of Alicia Torra, daughter of the celebrated pianist to whom the edition is dedicated, as Guest of Honour.

Opening Masterclass · 7:00 PM

Meeting at El Batel for candidates, jury, guest of honour and organisers. Professional masterclass with an exchange of musical experience. Dinner near the harbour. All meals (except breakfast) are covered by the organisation.

First Round · Full day

Morning: 8:30 AM warm-up (5 candidates per slot, alphabetical order). Performances 9:00 AM–2:30 PM with a break at 11:30 AM.

Afternoon: 4:00 PM warm-up for the next group. Session 4:30 PM–10:00 PM with a break at 7:00 PM. Finalist deliberation and dinner.

Final & Gala · 5:00 PM

Final round for the 7 finalists, following the same schedule. At 5:00 PM the Gala Concert begins, open to the public of the city. Winners announced live.

Rules

Forum regulations

Open to any pianist worldwide aged between 18 and 30 as of May 2027.

All applications are accepted at preselection stage; only 20 candidates will advance to the in-person phase.

Deadline: 17 March 2027. Results will be published within one month.

Only 7 pianists will advance to the second and final round. The jury's decision is final.

Only 3 pianists will receive the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, announced at the Gala on 23 May.

All phases take place at El Batel, Cartagena's principal concert hall.

Absence from the masterclass or any phase of the competition results in immediate exclusion.

The participation fee is €100. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
